Up next to our PointsU speakers introduction, we have Jeffery Kwok from Canadian Kilometers!
A little bit about Jeff
I’m Jeff, and I write at Canadian Kilometers. I’ve earned millions of miles and flown over 150,000 butt-in-seat miles this year to date. I love getting the best deal, so naturally, first class travel for pennies a great fit for me.
How I got into the Points Game, and why?
I wanted to plan a celebratory trip after my graduation from high school. Wanting to upgrade to business class led me to stumbling on Flyertalk and other miles/points blogs, and I haven’t looked back since.
My Favourite Points Strategy
Stacking promotions and time-limited offers. While there are plenty of ways to earn miles without too much work, I love getting the deals, the mistake fares – the offers that you never would be able to get even with miles and points if you’re not online at the right time.
My Topic this year for PointsUYYZ
I will be speaking about Advanced Miles and Points. You know how to open credit cards, and avoid fuel surcharges. What do you do after? Hopefully you’ll know a bit more after my presentation.
What you can get by attending PointsUYYZ
You’ll learn so much that’s not available online. I’m not a person who normally pays for tickets, but I would definitely pay for a ticket for this conference, because the information you learn and relationship you make is worth way more than the price of the ticket.
What’s next on the travel itinerary
I’m currently writing this on a plane with gogo wifi en route to Philadelphia! What’s likely next is SE Asia, probably within the next two months!
Make sure to network with people there. One of the most important things in maximizing your travel is knowing the right people, because many good deals spread by word-of-mouth. If you don’t have your people, you’ll always be behind.
PointsU Toronto will be hosted at Toronto Region Board of Trade Ballroom this October. Don’t forget to get your tickets for the event! If you want to learn more about how to best maximize your reward points or learn how to travel for cheap, come out on October 22nd!
